Anahuac Leadership in Academic Excellence
Anáhuac México University presented the Anáhuac Leadership Medal 2025, an award recognizing graduates who stand out for their commitment, social impact and contribution to the common good in various professional fields.
On November 20, 2025, the Rector's Auditorium on the North Campus of Anáhuac México University hosted the Anáhuac Leadership Medal award ceremony, an institutional recognition that honors graduates who stand out for their leadership, professional career and social contribution.
The event brought together academic authorities, family members, colleagues and members of the university community, who celebrated the award winners for embodying the values of excellence, ethics and service that distinguish our university.
The formal ceremony was presided over by the rector, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C., accompanied by the vice-rectors for academic affairs, Lorena Martínez Verduzco and Jose Rodrigo Pozón López, as well as the secretary general, José Luis Tadeo Rivas Martínez. All members of the Rector's Committee and directors of Schools, Faculties, and departments were also present.
Anáhuac Leadership Medal: tribute to distinguished graduates
The Anáhuac Leadership Medal recognizes graduates whose positive actions, strategic vision and professional performance have left their mark in their respective fields. These medals are an institutional recognition that distinguishes graduates with exemplary careers, positive leadership and tangible social impact in their community.
In this year's edition, four graduates received the award:
• Jessica Guadalupe de la Garza Reyna (Graphic Design, class of '89).
A museologist and cultural manager, she was recognized for more than two decades of work on museum projects and for her efforts to promote Mexican cultural heritage internationally. During her speech, she said that “excellence is not a destination, but a daily attitude,” and emphasized that every effort, no matter how small, transforms realities. She defined authentic leadership as the ability to light the way, listen carefully and lift others up.
• Lorena Assunta Highland Angelucci (Psychopedagogy, class of '05).
National Manager of Psychopedagogy at the Prepa Anáhuac Network, who was recognized for her leadership in integral formation processes, psychopedagogical support and strengthening emotional well-being in educational environments. In her message, she stated that this recognition represents “a call to serve with greater dedication and responsibility.” She expressed that authentic leadership is sustained by the creation of synergies, the building of community and the promotion of the development of others, without seeking the limelight.
• Juan Carlos Pérez Rocha Ituarte (Business Administration, class of '93).
Head of Banking Mexico & Latin America at HSBC, he was recognized for his strategic leadership in corporate banking and for his contribution to strengthening the financial sector in the region. He highlighted the role of Anáhuac México University in his professional life, especially for the values, knowledge and relationships that have shaped him. He explained that his purpose stems from a conviction: to finance projects that improve lives and promote development in Mexico. With humility, he reaffirmed his commitment to making a positive impact through his profession.
• Pedro de Garay Montero (Business Administration, class of '05).
Co-CEO of Grupo Bursátil Mexicano, he was recognized for his leadership in transforming the financial sector, his drive for innovation in investment models and his strategic vision for the growth of GBM. In his message, he expressed his deep gratitude, stated that his goal is to contribute to the country's development and committed to continuing to make a positive impact as a graduate of the Anáhuac.
Inspiration and leadership in service of the common good
To conclude the ceremony, the rector, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez, L.C., emphasized that the greatness of a life is not measured solely by professional achievements, but by the mark each individual leaves on their environment. He stressed that excellence, when linked to ethics and generosity, acquires a transformative power that transcends individual success. He affirmed that authentic leadership must always be oriented toward service, consistency and commitment to the common good, values that the four honorees represent with integrity.
He also recalled that the mission of the Anáhuac promotes the training of leaders who integrate art, science, humanism and action, and who find in their professional lives an opportunity to build a more united and just world.
An ongoing commitment to excellence
The presentation of the Anáhuac Leadership Medal 2025 reaffirms the commitment of Anáhuac Mexico University to educating individuals of integrity, capable of inspiring and transforming their environment through conscious, ethical and service-oriented leadership. The institution recognizes those who, with dedication and vision, contribute to the well-being of society and strengthen the mission of the University.
