FIMPES awards the Anáhuac two of its highest honors: A7 Accreditation and Level 3 Academic Integrity Distinction
Anahuac Leadership in Academic Excellence
Anáhuac México University obtained FIMPES A7 institutional accreditation, the highest recognition of academic quality, integrity and university management in the country, as well as the Level 3 Academic Integrity Distinction.
Anáhuac México University received the official reaccreditation certificate from the Federation of Mexican Private Higher Education Institutions (FIMPES) A7, as well as the Level 3 Academic Integrity Distinction, the highest level awarded by the Federation. Both awards were presented during the 89th FIMPES Assembly, held on November 20, 2025, at the Camino Real Mexico City Airport Hotel.
The Assembly brought together rectors and representatives from affiliated institutions to review progress, approve guidelines and strengthen inter-university collaboration. Within this framework, Anáhuac México stood out as one of the 30 universities in the country with the highest institutional accreditation.
The Anáhuac Community was represented by our rector, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C.; Fabián Antonio Márquez Rueda, director of Planning and Strategic Analysis; María Eugenia Hernández Pardo, coordinator of Institutional Evaluation and Ana María García López, director of Personalized Training Programs, who received the certificates on behalf of the entire academic community.
What does FIMPES Level A7 reaccreditation represent?
Level A7, previously corresponding to “plain and simple accreditation,” certifies that the institution achieves outstanding standards in teaching, research, infrastructure, management, regulations, academic integrity and fulfillment of its institutional mission. This distinction places Anáhuac México University among the group of private institutions with the highest quality and academic excellence in the country.
According to data from the Federation of Mexican Private Higher Education Institutions (FIMPES) and the Higher Education Institutions’ Information System (SIIES), there are more than 4,400 higher education institutions in Mexico. Of these, approximately 1,800 are private and only 112 are affiliated with FIMPES having met its quality standards. Only 30 institutions have the highest level of accreditation, which demonstrates the rigor of the evaluation process (FIMPES, 2025; SIIES–UNAM, 2025).
In addition to A7 reaccreditation, Anáhuac México University received the FIMPES Level 3 Academic Integrity Distinction, the highest level awarded in this category. This recognition confirms that our institution has solid policies, prevention mechanisms, action protocols and a consolidated ethical culture that promotes transparent educational environments free from academic malpractice. Level 3 endorses integrity as a guiding principle throughout university life and supports the authenticity of the learning process of each student.
The FIMPES Assembly: a strategic space for higher education
Based on official information from the FIMPES Assembly, this meeting constitutes the supreme decision-making and coordination authority between affiliated institutions. During each session, the rectors:
• Review the progress of the organization’s strategic projects
• Analyze the results of evaluation and accreditation processes
• Define agreements to strengthen academic quality in Mexico
• Promote cooperation initiatives and good university practices
• Supervise compliance with the principles of academic integrity
The 89th Assembly also addressed issues related to quality assurance, models for continuous improvement and the promotion of an integral culture of academic integrity, a fundamental cornerstone for this recognition.
Academic integrity: the cornerstone of excellence
FIMPES reaccreditation requires demonstrating a verifiable institutional commitment to academic integrity. This principle guides every university policy, process, structure and decision. According to FIMPES, academic integrity:
• Reinforces a culture of honesty, responsibility and trust
• Guarantees that training processes remain free of academic corruption
• Ensures that the institution trains honest professionals who are capable of contributing to the common good
The Anáhuac demonstrates this commitment through robust systems for prevention, review and punishment of academic misconduct; clear institutional policies; ethics training programs; and structures dedicated to ensuring authenticity in all learning processes.
An institutional achievement for the next seven years
Institutional reaccreditation, now at Level A7, is given for seven years, during which time the institution must demonstrate continuity, formality and consistency between its mission, its processes and its academic and educational results.
This recognition reaffirms our institution's national leadership, its commitment to excellence and its responsibility for student success from admission to professional integration. With 27 consecutive years of FIMPES accreditations, a record that began in 1999 and now totals five institutional accreditations, Anáhuac México University consolidates a sustained track record of quality, external audits, continuous improvement and academic integrity. Anáhuac México University thanks its academic, administrative and student community for consolidating this achievement, which strengthens its national position and its vocation for service through integral quality education.
