  We celebrate National Librarians' Day 2025

Mexico City, July 18, 2025 – In the framework of National Librarian's Day, a day of activities was held in the Rector's Hall on the South Campus, with the participation of the Library team.

The day began with a welcome address from Alma E. Cázares Ruiz, Director of the Library, who emphasized the importance of libraries as key spaces for the academic and educational development of the university community.

As part of the program, Dr. Rafael E. Alcaraz Rodríguez, PhD in Economics and Business Management from Deusto Business School, led the workshop "Immersive Learning Experiences," which included group dynamics and outdoor exercises focused on leadership, teamwork, and experiential learning.

 

During the event, Rosalía Bueno Cantinca, Coordinator of Information Organization, presented two important initiatives: "Library for Researchers" and the "Catalog of Authorities," both focused on strengthening access to and organization of academic knowledge.

Likewise, José Manuel Santiago Muñoz, Director of Technological Operations, and Juan Pablo Granados Carmona, Designer of Innovation Experiences and Educational Development, shared progress on the "Virtual Reality Collaborative Room" project, a space that seeks to integrate immersive technologies into the teaching-learning process in various disciplines. Although the official name of the space has not yet been defined, the proposal was well received for its innovative vision and high educational potential.

To close the day, Ms. Cázares recognized the commitment and work of each member of the Library team, reaffirming their fundamental role in the academic life of the university.
