Under the title “The person at the center: a personalist reflection on the refusal of treatment in adolescents”, their study offered a vision based on personalist bioethics, highlighting the importance of recognizing the dignity of the adolescent patient and fostering a dialogue that balances the right to decide with the responsibility to protect their well-being.
Through a rigorous and well-structured approach, Abascal Baca analyzed the ethical challenges faced by both healthcare professionals and families when a minor refuses medical treatment. His work underscores the need to consider not only patient autonomy but also the legal, clinical, and moral context that frames these decisions.
