The meeting promoted strategic dialogue on internationalization, research, and institutional development.
On April 7, 2025, in an atmosphere of open dialogue and strategic collaboration, the School of Bioethics at Anáhuac University of Mexico held its Advisory Council meeting, consolidating its commitment to continuous improvement, internationalization, and academic excellence.
The meeting began with an informal breakfast that provided a space for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and reflections among the board members and special guests. This opportunity fostered an atmosphere of closeness and trust, essential for a participatory and purposeful session.
The official session was led by Dr. José Alberto Castilla Barajas, director of the School of Bioethics, who thanked each of the councilors for their presence and commitment. During his remarks, he presented an overview of the School's progress, challenges, and prospects, beginning with a presentation of its current financial statements, which included data on enrollment, graduates, publications, agreements, and active programs.
One of the main topics addressed was the internationalization plan, which aims to position the School of Bioethics globally through strategic alliances with internationally renowned academic institutions and research centers. Priority lines of research promoted by the School were also detailed, along with a summary of recent and upcoming academic events such as conferences, seminars, reflection sessions, and community outreach activities, which reflect the dynamism and national and international reach of the academic community.
Following the presentation of these topics, a space for discussion was opened where the councilors shared observations, suggestions, and proposals aimed at strengthening the academic quality and social relevance of bioethical work. The contributions demonstrated a genuine interest in contributing to institutional growth from an ethical, interdisciplinary, and humanistic perspective.
This meeting reaffirms the School of Bioethics' ongoing efforts to maintain a self-critical and reflective approach aimed at both consolidating its strengths and identifying areas for improvement. It should be noted that the meetings with the Advisory Board are consolidated as strategic spaces for building community, sharing long-term visions, and projecting the future of bioethics with a comprehensive, innovative, and global approach.
