On November 21, 2023, we had the honor of witnessing the Degree Examination of María Bernardita Portales Velasco, belonging to the 11th generation of the Doctorate in Applied Bioethics with her thesis, entitled "Contribution of the clinical ethical consulting service in addressing bioethical problems related to end-of-life clinical decisions in patients hospitalized in a German clinic in Chile”.

The School of Bioethics actively participated in the Basic Simulation Instructors Course, held at the Anáhuac Experiential Learning Center. The main focus of the course was to acquire knowledge about the effective use of simulators for practice in the health field at the CASIC (Anáhuac Center for Clinical Simulation).

The interdisciplinary study group Querida Amazonía held its twenty-third session with the topic “National Dialogue for Peace: charting another possible path”, taught by Ana Paula Hernández Romano, coordinator of the National Dialogue for Peace, which seeks to establish in Mexico the conditions to build peace from an interdisciplinary and multisectoral approach on four main topics: social fabric, justice, security and penitentiary system.

This article legally and ethically analyzes the right to breastfeeding in surrogacy, addressing its complexities from a comprehensive perspective. It highlights the need to regulate surrogacy at the federal level in Mexico, protecting the rights of the minor and his or her right to breastfeeding. Affective parenting and the creation of new bio-legal norms are promoted considering the jurisdiction and requirements of the parents.

The quest for immortality is probably as old as humankind itself. In recent decades a group of scientists and futurists who describe themselves as transhumanists has explored the possibility of uploading the human mind onto a computer as one possible way to achieve ‘immortality’. This article discusses the idea of mind uploading from the standpoint of a theological anthropology and eschatology. It examines the implications of mind uploading on our understanding of the relationship between the body and mind and personal identity and compares this with the christian understanding of resurrection.
