On January 13, the International Seminar: Spirituality and Medicine was held, organized by the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Bioethics of the Finis Terrae University, whose objective was to know the spiritual dimension of the human person in his state of disease and how it affects the evolution of the course of diseases, considering the philosophical, anthropological, religious and medical aspects from the theoretical and practical perspective, a space where our Faculty of Bioethics participated.

On January 19, 2023, during the monthly session of the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics, A.C. (ANMB AC.), the fifth edition of the book Introduction to Bioethics was presented in the Auditorium of the Postgraduate Studies Center of Universidad Anáhuac México, an event attended by 60 participants, including Father Fernando Fabó , L.C., director of the Faculty of Bioethics of our University.

Ethical dilemmas related to puberty suppression

|
Pediatric gender dysphoria is a psychiatric pathology whose incidence has increased significantly. Several therapies have been proposed, but there is still no consensus on the behavior to follow in these cases. One of the suggested treatments is the suppression of puberty, whose objective is to reduce the distress of the child suffering from this pathology. However, this treatment has generated several ethical dilemmas that have not yet been resolved. For this reason, based on the current evidence, its indication does not seem prudent since there are other therapeutic alternatives that do not arouse controversy.
