More than 4,300 attendees join the 2025 Lidera Award

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Anáhuac University Cancún became the epicenter of youth leadership by hosting the 29th annual Lidera Award. From April 30 to May 2, more than 4,300 attendees—including students, faculty, and families from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and El Salvador—gathered to participate in this event, which promotes the development of leadership skills and social commitment among middle and high school students. 

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including CP Reyna Valdivia Arceo Rosado, Secretary of Anti-Corruption and Good Government of the state, representing the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, and Lic. Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña, Mayor of Benito Juárez. Both officials delivered inspirational messages to the young people, emphasizing the importance of their role in the transformation of society. 

The Rector of Anáhuac University Cancún, Father Jesús Quirce Andrés, LC, urged participants to live intensely in the present and to "make noise" with their actions, highlighting the positive impact they can generate starting today. For her part, Ms. Elena Bustillos Cornejo, Executive Director of the Semper Altius School Network, the Anáhuac Prep Network, and Oak International, encouraged the young people to enjoy everything they do and to do it with their hearts, reminding them that authentic leadership is born from passion and commitment. 

The Lidera Award, established in 1996, is a platform that encourages high school students to develop their talents in areas such as debate, public speaking, mathematics, robotics, research, and social participation. This anniversary not only celebrates 25 years of educational excellence, but also the strengthening of a community committed to social transformation.
