The Anáhuac University Network is Proud to Support the 2024 Friendship Tournament

The Anáhuac University Network is pleased to announce the start of the 41st edition of the Friendship Tournament, which will be held in Querétaro from November 4 to 12, 2024. This sporting event, considered the largest in Latin America, brings together young people of the Semper Altius School Network , the Anáhuac Preparatory Network and the Mano Amiga School Network , and aims to promote values such as discipline, camaraderie and fair play through healthy competition.

This year, the tournament will feature the participation of more than 9,000 athletes from all over Mexico, as well as from the Philippines, El Salvador and Guatemala. With a projection of 40,000 attendees, including athletes and their families, an economic impact of 500 million pesos is expected for the state of Querétaro. The Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega, has indicated that hotel occupancy in the city has already reached 95%, which underlines the positive impact of the event on the local economy.

Father Benjamin Clariond LC, director of the 2024 Querétaro Friendship Tournament and of the Prepa Anáhuac Querétaro and director of the Cumbres International School, highlighted that this edition of the tournament is the largest in its history, exceeding the size of the previous edition by 58%. In addition, more than 50 sponsors and 350 volunteers have joined to make the event possible, working alongside 200 families and 250 collaborators distributed across 12 organizing committees.

Sports and Values in Action

The Friendship Tournament not only focuses on sports competition, but on the comprehensive development of the participants, who will compete in disciplines such as football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, taekwondo, swimming, golf and tennis. This year, the tournament will also actively promote fair play through a specific committee dedicated to fostering respect and integrity in sport.

In addition, the opening ceremony will take place on November 7 at the Corregidora Stadium , where more than 25,000 people are expected to attend, including athletes, family members and local authorities. This event represents an opportunity for students to strengthen their sports skills, build bonds of friendship and develop a sense of community and belonging.

Venues for Greater Participation

Given the growth of the event, the Friendship Tournament will be held in two main venues: the Cumbres International School/Prepa Anáhuac Querétaro and the Universidad Anáhuac Querétaro. Complementary facilities, such as the Club El Campanario and the Querétaro 2000 Olympic Pool, will also be used to host some of the disciplines in competition.

From the Anahuac University Network we celebrate the impact of this tournament, which not only promotes the physical and personal development of young people, but also strengthens the sense of belonging and collaboration between our institutions and society in general. We would like to invite our entire community to be part of this historic event and to closely follow the performance of our young people in each of their disciplines.
