The Anáhuac University Network celebrates the recent agreement signed between Anáhuac University Puebla and the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation of the State of Puebla (SECIHTI), an important step toward consolidating an innovation ecosystem that responds to the social and technological needs of the region.
The agreement is part of the institutional engagement strategy with the public and private sectors and reinforces our universities' commitment to generating applied knowledge. It also complements the recent establishment of the state's Advisory Council on Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation, a space to which Anáhuac Puebla is actively joining with the addition of Dr. Herlinda Ortiz, coordinator of the university's Research Center.
During the formal ceremony, presided over by José Mata Temoltzin, Rector of Anáhuac Puebla, and Dr. Celina Peña Guzmán, head of SECIHTI, the importance of this collaboration, which seeks to transcend the generation of strategic projects with a high social impact, was highlighted. As Mata emphasized, this agreement opens up a range of possibilities for academic contributions to the transformation of the environment.
Dr. Peña, for her part, recognized the value of the collaboration with our institution and swore in Dr. Ortiz as a new member of the advisory council, whose work will be essential to building a public policy on the humanities, technology, and innovation aligned with the challenges facing the state of Puebla.
This alliance takes on an even more important role following the creation of SECIHTI in December 2024, within the framework of the new state administration headed by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, replacing the former CONCyTEP. The new secretariat represents a clear commitment to effective access to the human right to science.
At the Anáhuac University Network, we recognize that these actions are key to driving the development of our communities, consolidating our institutions as strategic allies of the public sector and as key players in Mexico's transformation through knowledge and innovation.
